Texas WR Xavier Worthy is in store for another monster season
Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy had a historic freshman season in 2021.
Worthy cemented his spot in Longhorn history books with his 62 catches for 981 yards and 12 touchdowns. Those stats shattered Texas’ first-year receiving records and proved good enough to earn freshman All-American honors.
The Longhorns’ No. 1 pass-catcher is set up to improve upon his already impressive numbers this season.
Steve Sarkisian is known for putting his wide receivers in a good position to put up huge stats and that will not change in 2022. Worthy is the undoubted top target in an offense that has the potential to be one of the best in the country.
Texas added a strong group of talent to its offense over the offseason including new starting quarterback Quinn Ewers. A retooled wide receiver core around Worthy takes some of the attention away from him, freeing the speedster up to show off his playmaking ability.
