Texas A&M HC Mike Elko recently paid a visit to 2025 4-Star CB Chuck McDonald out of Mater Dei (CA)

Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko has been the hardest working man in College Station this year, taking recruiting visit after recruiting visit, which has continued into February, as the Aggies’ 2025 recruiting class looks to grow tenfold before spring football begins next month.

This week, it was revealed that Elko took a trip to the prestigious Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California, to visit 2025 4-star cornerback Chuck McDonald on Thursday afternoon, looking to add a second elite defensive back prospect after landing a commitment from fellow 4-star cornerback Deyjhon Pettaway last weekend.

McDonald is just months removed from his productive 2023 junior season, recording 34 tackles (26 solo tackles), 7 pass deflections, and an interception. Standing at 6-1 and 180 pounds, McDonald’s consistently displays all the tools needed to excel at the next level, including impressive tackling at the point of attack and the size and quickness to excel in press-man.

According to 247Sports Composite, McDonald is currently positioned as the 123rd-ranked player in the 2025 cycle, the 17th-ranked cornerback prospect, and the 12th-ranked player in California.
