The Longhorns have a huge game on Saturday. It could have big picture ramifications in recruiting following a Texas A&M loss.
The Aggies dropped their fifth consecutive game falling to 3-6 on the season. Head coach Jimbo Fisher’s team gave early indications of how the season would go with a home loss to Appalachian State. The loss to the Sun Belt foe wasn’t rock bottom.
It’s fair to give the Aggies a mulligan for today’s loss to Florida. A significant portion of the roster was unable to play as many players were sick with the flu. There isn’t any excuse for the other five losses, though.
Here is a glimpse of how social media reacted to the Aggies continued inexplicable free fall.
America's team, App State
This dude wearing an App State shirt & beanie with a cigar in his mouth while dancing on Texas A&M's grave is an absolute legend. pic.twitter.com/gQLZC93WzT

At least they were good around last Halloween
Texas A&M has not scored 30 points against an FBS team since Halloween.

App State and 4-8?
Where are all the Aggies clowning Texas for going 5-7? I hope they are doing well today.

I tried to tell yall. A&Ms not making a bowl game. And there better be zero (0) Aggies trying to make excuses for it. It’s inexcusable. And disgusting.

Return on investment
Jimbo Fisher loses again, now they will have to win out to make a bowl game

2-8 vs last ten FBS opponents
With A&M getting thumped at home to UF today, Jimbo Fisher is now 2-8 in Texas A&M's last 10 games against FBS competition. Even worse, the Aggies, preseason No. 6, have lost their last five games against unranked FBS opponents. Oof.

A generous concession
If only they had talented underclassmen backups
Most people focus on QB and the encyclopedic playbook but five years in and there's not much depth, O-line, or defense.
