Texas Longhorns make historic Frank Erwin Center items available for online auction
The Moody Center is the hot new stadium that replaced the Frank Erwin Center in 2022. Plenty of alumni still have fond memories of the facility though, with 45 years of memories held within its hallowed halls.
Now, people can own a slice of that history, as UT has put items from the Frank Erwin Center up for an online auction. Those interested can bid on the pieces until October 4. This includes theater seats, lights, tables and more furniture.

The center opened up in 1977, with the first game being an 83-76 win over the Oklahoma Sooners. It was named after former UT Board of Regents member Frank Erwin after his death in 1980. Its demolition is scheduled to be complete in 2024 and will make room for the Dell Medical Center.
The last Texas men's basketball game to be held in the facility was in a 68-61 loss to Baylor in March 2022. The last event to be held there was a graduation in May 2022.
