Texas LB DeMarvion Overshown has the perfect response to slander

·1 min read

It’s another eventful week on the Forty Acres. Texas had to address a non-story that was made a story on Monday.

Texas linebacker DeMarvion Overshown was falsely accused of getting arrested for marijuana possession during the season. The sources were reputable enough that you would believe their reports to be true. Overshown made light of the situation on Twitter.

Overshown was in fact arrested for possession of two ounces of Marijuana. Albeit, the incident occurred in December of last year. The Longhorns’ leader took the situation in stride, although frustration was well within his rights. Overshown humbly posted clarification about the situation on Twitter Monday afternoon.

People make mistakes, and the writers were given false information from the Sheriff’s Office. Nevertheless, it’s yet another example of the manufactured stories the Longhorns have had to deal with this season.

Overshown’s response displayed maturity and leadership, another sign of the changing culture at Texas. He and his teammates direct their attention back to improving and playing winning football as the season progresses.
