Texas among top schools for three-star EDGE Brad Spence

Texas continues to recruit heavily on the defensive front. The Longhorns have positioned themselves in good shape with three-star edge rusher Brad Spence.

The Houston product released top schools in his recruitment on Friday. Spence narrowed down his 32 offers to 10 programs from across the country.  Texas made the cut along with Arkansas, Arizona State, Cal, Duke, Missouri, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Utah and Wisconsin.

Spence is a bit of a late riser up the recruiting rankings. 247Sports rates him as the No. 136 player in the state of Texas and No. 60 overall edge rusher. He had a breakout junior season where he totaled 72 tackles including 11 for loss. Spence showed his versatility by adding six pass breakups to his stat line.

Texas currently holds the No. 23 ranked class with five players committed in the 2023 cycle.
