Texans promote running back C.J. Prosise to active roster against the Steelers

The Houston Texans have made their move to promote a practice squad player to the active roster against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3.

The club announced Saturday the promotion of running back C.J. Prosise to the active roster.

The former Seattle Seahawks running back was promoted last week against the Baltimore Ravens. As a result, the club declared running back Duke Johnson inactive.

Johnson has been battling the same ankle injury that scratched him from the Ravens game in Week 2, and he is similarly questionable against the Steelers. However, Johnson did make the flight to Pittsburgh. One of the first steps to playing in the game to make the flight. However, an activation of Prosise is also telling Johnson may not be ready to go.

Houston left inside linebacker Peter Kalambayi behind as the third-year veteran is working through a hamstring injury, which also cost him an activation in Week 2 against Baltimore.
