The Houston Texans offensive line may be getting more help along the way.

According to coach David Culley, guard Lane Taylor, who has been rehabilitating from a knee injury that cost his 2020 season just one game in, is coming along well.

“Lane is still trying to get it all figured out from the standpoint of where he fits and making sure that things are right with him physically,” Culley said Wednesday. “He’s getting there, much better physically. He’s not unhealthy right now. It’s just working him back in. He’s still right there in the picture and at some point, could be available for us.”

The Texans have shuffled Tytus Howard from right tackle to left guard and have Max Scharping at right guard. The third-year players have given the interior offensive line spots youth along with some experience.

Taylor played for the Green Bay Packers from 2013-20. He has six years’ experience playing under Texans offensive line coach James Campen, who was the Packers’ offensive line coach from 2007-18.
