This sentence from the Associated Press story on Rafael Nadal's thrilling, three-set semifinal win over Viktor Troicki in Tokyo just about sums up how the latter part of the match went for the 54th-ranked Serb:
Serving for the match, Troicki double-faulted, missed an easy volley and then hit a forehand into the net, sending the set into another tiebreaker.
Troicki, who had never taken a set off Nadal in their previous three matches, used his herky-jerk serve to stretch Nadal to a final-set tiebreak, but came to net at inopportune times and played a heavy racket on crucial points.
Since the match didn't end until a little after 3 a.m. ET, here's match point in case you missed it:
Nadal will face Gael Monfils in the Tokyo finals.
