Tennessee Titans' Taylor Lewan was available vs. Rams only in 'an emergency role,' Mike Vrabel said

Taylor Lewan, listed as questionable for the Tennessee Titans' game against the Los Angeles Rams, was active on Sunday.

But Lewan did not play a snap in the game, with Bobby Hart getting the start at left tackle in the 28-16 victory over the Rams.

Lewan was added to the injury report on Thursday with a knee injury after limited participation in practice, and he did not participate in practice Friday. The former Michigan player, who suffered a torn ACL last season, has now not played in two games this season with the knee injury.

Titans coach Mike Vrabel said that Lewan was active and available only in "an emergency role" but did not give specifics on Lewan's injury.

The Titans fared OK without Lewan and starting right guard Nate Davis, who was inactive Sunday, against a fearsome Rams defensive front that included Aaron Donald. It wasn't an offensive explosion in game No. 1 without Derrick Henry; Tennessee totaled 194 yards, ran for 2.7 yards per rush and allowed three sacks.

But the Titans offense also outscored the Rams offense 21-16, with a Kevin Byard second quarter interception return for a touchdown serving as the other score as the Titans defense stepped up against Matthew Stafford and company.
