Tennessee-Tennessee Tech: The all-time series
Tennessee hosts Tennessee Tech Saturday.
The 2021 contest marks the seventh all-time meeting between the Volunteers and Golden Eagles.
Tennessee is 6-0 against Tennessee Tech in the series, which dates back to 1947. All games have been contested in Knoxville.
The Vols (1-1) have never defeated Tennessee Tech (0-2) by less than 30 points.
The two schools first played in 1947 with the Vols posting a 49-0 victory. The teams played in five consecutive seasons between 1947-51 and did not meet again until 2016.
In the most recent meeting then-head coach Butch Jones and Tennessee won, 55-0. Quarterback Joshua Dobbs threw three touchdown passes and Marquez Callaway returned a 62-yard punt return.
Kickoff for Saturday’s game is slated for noon EDT and the game will be broadcasted on SEC Network+.
