Taylor Swift's Groper Found Guilty in Countersuit Trial

On Monday, August 14, a jury found former radio DJ David Mueller guilty of groping Taylor Swift at a pre-concert meet-n-greet in 2014, CNN reports. Taylor had countersued Mueller for $1 after he sued her and alleged that her reporting of the sexual assault cost him his job.
A judge dismissed Mueller's suit against Taylor on Friday, August 11. On Monday, the same jury found Taylor's mother, Andrea Swift, and her manager Frank Bell, not guilty of tortious interference with regards to Mueller's job, the AP reports.
CNN reports that, in a statement, Taylor thanked the judge and her lawyers for "fighting for me and anyone who feels silenced by a sexual assault. I acknowledge the privilege that I benefit from in life, in society and in my ability to shoulder the enormous cost of defending myself in a trial like this. My hope is to help those whose voices should also be heard. Therefore, I will be making donations in the near future to multiple organizations that help sexual assault victims defend themselves."
She's not the only person standing up for other survivors of sexual assault. On Monday, Kesha took to Twitter with an open message to her fellow singer: "I support you always, and especially right now and admire your strength and fearlessness," she told Taylor. "Truth is always the answer."
