Taylor Heinicke plans to return to Old Dominion to finish his degree originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

We knew Taylor Heinicke was something special after his incredible performance during Wild Card Weekend against the eventual Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Turns out, missing an important test at Old Dominion University, which overlapped with the game, was worth it.

Back in December when Heinicke was signed to be Washington's quarantine quarterback he, like many other students, was preparing to take finals. Fast forward a few months and Heinicke's performance earned him a two-year contract extension with the Washington Football team worth a reported $8.75 million.

Despite the newly-signed contract, Heinicke still has eyes on completing his degree.

During his post-signing presser, Heinicke shared that he ended up going back to school to successfully pass the tests he missed and that finishing his degree is still a priority.

“I went back and finished the two. Thankfully, I passed them both. That’s always good news,” Heinicke said. “I’ve got two more classes. Maybe next spring semester I can get rid of those.”

Performance of a lifetime in his first NFL playoff start, passes college exams, earns a multi-million dollar contract, plans to head back to school to finish his degree - bravo Taylor, bravo.
