Tangle Teezer Launched a New Brush Specifically for Fine, Breakage-Prone Hair

Ever since the original Tangle Teezer — a four-time Allure Best of Beauty Award winner — officially launched in 2007, it has amassed a growing number of fans, imitators, and Tangle Teezer siblings, like the Compact Styler and the Thick & Curly. But while these handle-less tools are famous for how gently they detangle hair, the brand set out to create an even more merciful version of its knot remover.

After nearly a dozen editions of Tangle Teezer, the latest brush is called Fine & Fragile. Aware of the numerous reasons someone might have delicate hair — from genetics to nutrition to frequent bleaching and more — the brand was inspired to reinvent its original design with teeth that are 30 percent softer to limit hair loss from aggressive brushing or styling, leading to five times less breakage, Tangle Teezer claims.

"Thinning hair is a condition that can be caused for a myriad of reasons at any time of life. Sufferers are often scared to brush their hair for fear of pulling out hair, but our Fine & Fragile detangling hair brush gently glides through the hair with no pulling or tugging, whilst massaging the scalp," the brand website says. "The unique two-tiered, soft flex teeth detangle quickly and easily without causing the hair any additional stress. The long teeth detangle and the shorter teeth smooth the cuticle. The results are healthier looking hair."

Users in the U.K. who have had the chance to try Fine & Fragile are already leaving fantastic reviews for it, with one fan writing, "I have very fine hair which is thinning and this brush is the only one I've used that doesn't tug or pull out my hair. Very ergonomic to hold and the multi length of bristles are great for non tugging. Also very soft on my scalp." Another enthusiastically said, "It really does help with breakage! The bristles are much softer!"

And now, Fine & Fragile has made its way to the U.S. to go easy on those of us with fine, thinning, damaged, and/or color-treated hair. You can get yours for $12 at Ulta now.
