Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 2 matchup

On the heels of a Sunday Night Football win over the Dallas Cowboys, Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers travel to New Orleans to face Jameis Winston and the Saints.

Can the 45-year-old Brady, who in Week 1 became the oldest quarterback to ever start a game in the NFL, stay on the top of his game in this NFC South showdown? Or will Winston, Alvin Kamara, Taysom Hill and the Saints offense prove too much to handle for Todd Bowles' group? The game kicks off Sunday at 1 p.m. from the Big Easy.

Here's a look at the betting details and USA TODAY's NFL staff picks for the Buccaneers vs. Saints Week 2 game of the 2022 NFL season:

Lorenzo Reyes: Buccaneers 27, Saints 26

The Saints, oddly enough, have won and covered the last seven regular season games in this rivalry. I think that changes, slightly, as Tampa Bay looks like one of the top teams in the NFC at the moment but New Orleans has enough on both sides of the ball to keep it close enough for a cover.

Julio Jones caught three passes for 69 yards in the Buccaneers' 19-3 win over the Cowboys in Week 1.

Safid Deen: Saints 27, Buccaneers 24

The Buccaneers won an ugly opener in Dallas, relying on their defense until their offense broke through in the end zone during the second half. But the Saints have been a thorn in their side in recent years. While Tampa Bay’s defense will keep them in it, Tom Brady’s offensive line won’t fare better against New Orleans. Saints’ QB Jameis Winston, receivers Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry, and running back Alvin Kamara will pick up where they left off in their comeback win over Atlanta last week.

Lance Pugmire: Saints 20, Buccaneers 17

New Orleans did more than poke the Tom Brady bear by completing a season sweep of Tampa Bay, 9-0, in December. Points will be at a premium, and the home-field advantage should help sway the outcome to the Saints’ favor.
