Tale of the Tape: Leading Rushers – Audric Estime vs. Jaydn Ott
Just a guess, but Notre Dame’s game with California likely won’t be won on the running game. It especially is unlikely that if that somehow does happen, Audric Estime will be the one making a difference. Not even averaging 3 yards a carry, he’s a perfect example of the troubles the Irish’s offense have had. There’s not even a guarantee that he’ll be in this spot next week because not one running back has done anything to stand out so far.
The Bears’ Jayln Ott is more likely to turn heads by carrying the ball. No, he’s not among the elite runners in college football, but he can make a difference on a team that’s able to win games. So far, that ability has paid off to the tune of two Bears wins, and more touchdowns should follow for him. Even though Ott only is a freshman, he has to be given the edge here, and that’s bad news for the Irish.
