Tajouri's second goal salvages tie for NYCFC vs. Revolution

Ismael Tajouri scored two goals, including one in the 75th minute, to salvage a 2-2 draw as New York City FC's three-game, season-opening winning streak ended against the New England Revolution on Saturday in Foxborough, Mass.

Tajouri increased his goal tally to three on the season. Sean Johnson finished with five saves in the tie for New York City FC (3-0-1), which opened the year with a trio of wins against Sporting Kansas City, the LA Galaxy and Orlando City SC.

Diego Fagundez (second goal) and Juan Agudelo (1) each had goals and Matt Turner finished with a pair of saves for New England (1-1-1), which earned a point after picking up a win in its home opener against the Colorado Rapids last weekend.

The Revs welcomed back Antonio Mlinar Delamea and Claude Dielna after the two served a one-game suspension in last week's match against Colorado for being sent off against Philadelphia.

Meanwhile, New York's Rodney Wallace (Costa Rica) and Alex Ring (Finland) missed the match due to international duties.

Ronald Matarrita (hamstring) and David Villa (calf) missed the game for New York City FC. Zachary Herivaux (ankle) was out for New England while Gabriel Somi played despite being questionable with a concussion.

Fagundez opened the scoring early with his 11th-minute strike (assisted by Wilfried Zahibo), and that goal would hold until the break as New England carried a 1-0 lead into halftime.

Tajouri's first goal in the 51st minute knotted the score. He was assisted by Saad Abdul-Salaam and Jesús Medina.

Agudelo restored the Revs' lead with his goal in the 63rd minute off assists from Cristian Penilla and Zahibo.

Tajouri's 75th-minute tally was assisted by Yangel Herrera.

New York City FC completes its two-game road trip next Saturday at San Jose. New England is also on the road to face Houston next Saturday.
