Taco Bell’s World Series Promotion: Free Tacos for Stolen Bases Back

Taco Bell — owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. (NYSE:YUM) — is rolling out its free tacos promotion for the World Series again this year.

Last year, a stolen base in the epic baseball series netted fans a free taco, and this year won’t be any different as Taco Bell is giving out free Doritos Locos Tacos to everyone if a base is stolen during the World Series.

The “Steal a Base, Steal a Taco” World Series promotion applies if a base is stolen during game one or game two of the seven-game series. The taco would be given out on Wednesday, Nov. 1 between 2 and 6 p.m. (local time) at all Taco Bell locations.

However, a stolen base during game three or later would still get people free Doritos Locos Tacos, except those will be given out on Tuesday, Nov. 7 (local time) from 2 to 6 p.m. The promotion is only good for the first stolen base, so the free tacos will be given out on Nov. 1 or Nov. 7, but not both.

This is the sixth time in 10 years that Taco Bell has done the promotion, which so far has given people free tacos thanks to Jacoby Ellsbury, Jason Bartlett, Ángel Pagán, Lorenzo Cain and Francisco Lindor.

The taco chain does a similar giveaway during the NBA final.

YUM stock fell 0.3% Monday.
