T’Vondre Sweat says goodbye to the University of Texas

In a social media post on Tuesday, Texas defensive lineman T’Vondre Sweat announced it is time for the next chapter of his life.

The fifth-year senior from Huntsville was paired with Byron Murphy as the best interior defensive linemen in college football this season. Sweat won the 2023 Outland Trophy for the best interior lineman in the nation, along with multiple Big 12 honors.

Sweat led the Texas defense as one of the best in the country, allowing 82 rushing yards per game and 19 points allowed per game. He was a massive piece to the Longhorns’ trenches and will be missed severely next year.

T’Vondre will likely be a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft. He is No. 21 on Mel Kiper’s big board.
