Joe Biden is officially set to become President of the United States. One football coach is already thinking about how to leverage that fact.
When asked about Biden’s election, Syracuse head coach Dino Babers told reporters on Saturday that he believes Biden’s graduation from Syracuse’s law school will be a boon on the recruiting trail. Babers added that he is eager to meet the first Syracuse graduate to ever occupy the White House.

“Not only is it a huge honor, but I think it’s a huge recruiting advantage too,” Babers said. “You go around the country and say, ‘Hey, come to Syracuse. You can be President of the United States.’”
We might want to take a grain of salt with that, though we don’t have any evidence that it won’t work.
Biden, who was declared the winner of the 2020 presidential election on Saturday, is poised to be the first U.S. president to have graduated from a football Power Five school since Michigan graduate (and football player) Gerald Ford. Biden would also be the first since Ford to graduate from a state school, having attended Delaware as an undergraduate.
Syracuse’s 2021 recruiting class currently ranks 46th in the nation according to Rivals, which would be their first time in the top 50 in Rivals’ rankings since 2008.
