Sydney Snyder WestMAC girls soccer Player of the Year; 2023 team revealed

Feb. 28—Sydney Snyder was named Western Maryland Athletic Conference Player of the Year to headline the list of players named to the 2023 girls soccer All-WestMAC squad.

Mountain Ridge was the conference champion with a 7-1 record, Northern and Allegany ended with 5-2-1 marks, Southern was 2-6 and Fort Hill 0-8.

The first-team forwards are Fort Hill junior Nevaeh Bunbasi, Allegany forward Avery Miller, Mountain Ridge senior Meredith Munday, Southern senior Abby Butina and Northern junior Emma Hostetler.

The midfielders are Allegany sophomore Myia Miler and Mountain Ridge junior Isabella Robison, and the defenders are Southern junior Ashlyn Leader, Mountain Ridge defender Lexi Simpson and Northern junior Isabella Yoder.

Fort Hill senior Lindsey Ternent was the first-team goalkeeper.

The second team was comprised of freshman goalkeeper Taylor Lamberson, freshman midfielder Fiona Ruddell and junior defender Jazmyn White of Mountain Ridge; senior midfielder Lydia Nelson and junior midfielder Mckenzie Upole of Northern; senior goalkeeper Shylah Taylor and junior defender Sierra Campbell of Allegany; senior midfielder Danielle Brobst and freshman midfielder Jayden Weaver of Southern; and senior defender Alissa Breeding and sophomore defender Alexis Litten of Fort Hill.
