GAME PREVIEW

With 21 points from 20 matches in the I-League, Floyd Pinto’s team have improved from last season on their points tally. This will infuse a lot of confidence in the players before they take on Kerala Blasters in the qualifying round of the Super Cup.

Indian Arrows have looked comfortable with the ball and their 3-1 away win against Mohun Bagan in their last I-League fixture is a testimony to their current form.

Anwar Ali will have the responsibility to lead from the back, while Rohit Danu would look to carry on with his goal-scoring boots in Super Cup as well.

"The Indian Arrows is a testament to the power of Indian football in the future. If you are good enough then you are old enough. The boys have proved themselves throughout the season. They have evolved. We hit a purple patch at the end of the season and it is no better time to go into the Super Cup. We are not here to make up the numbers. We are here to win," said Floyd Pinto, coach of Indian Arrows.

On the other hand, Kerala Blasters had a poor campaign in the Indian Super League (ISL) and finished ninth in the league table with 15 points from 18 matches.

They will look to amends of their poor run of form in ISL by producing a better display in the Super Cup. Anas Edthodika and Sandesh Jhingan will be at the heart of defence to stop the likes of Rahul KP and Danu.

Arrows have troubled many I-League sides with their blistering pace upfront and it will be interesting to see how Jhingan and Edathodika stop them from wreaking havoc.

Coach Nelo Vingagda will have his eyes on Matej Poplatnik and Slaviša Stojanović for scoring the goals. They were not in great form in ISL and one can expect them to play with greater determination in the Super Cup to prove their metttle.

"The game will be hard and difficult. We need our players to be fully concentrated against Arrows. We have our own strategy. The players are understanding my philosophy better. The young boys are very good. We are here to win. The results of ISL are really disappointing and it does not show the real value of the team," said the Portuguese manager said before the match.
