The Los Angeles Rams and the New England Patriots combined to score three points Sunday in the first half of Super Bowl LIII.

Both teams' punters had plenty of work to do, but that's not exactly a recipe to captivate a viewing audience. Steph Curry, who scored 14 points of his own in the Warriors' win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night, was not impressed.

The Rams and the Patriots managed a whopping three more points in the third quarter. After 45 minutes of game action, there were fewer points (six) than songs performed by Maroon 5, Travis Scott and Big Boi at the halftime show (seven).

Viewers wanted something, anything to keep their attention. Lakers star LeBron James was desperate for a scoop with the NBA trade deadline just four days away.

His Lakers would be in position to provide one, considering the tension in their locker room Saturday. At this rate, we'll take a news nugget on Carmelo Anthony.
