Strong Overton finish results in 52-46 loss for Alto

Jan. 27—ALTO — Overton bested Alto 34-27 in the second half to claim a 52-46 decision over the Yellowjackets at DeVonte Mumphrey Memorial Court in Alto Friday night.

Overton (20-3, 6-2) tightened its grip on second place in the district standings, while the Jackets' record dipped to 17-9, 4-4.

Alto sits in fourth place in the conference standing at this point.

Keegan Davis poured in 15 points and came down with three rebounds for Alto.

Other players of impact for Alto were Jamarion Rollins (10 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals) and Tim Bond (8 points, 5 rebounds).

At 7 p.m. Tuesday the Mean Sting hoopsters will trek to Douglass (19-8, 7-0) for a date with the Indians, who are in first place in the league standings.
