Tanner Jeannot’s rostered percentage increased from 27% to 33% from a week ago. He remains a strong option in deeper leagues, especially for poolies who value hits along with offense. Alex Tuch went from 24% to 29% following an appearance on Waiver Wired last week.

Antti Raanta was 10% rostered a week ago. He was up to 26%, but now he is back down to 22% after struggling against Columbus on Saturday. Raanta had a shutout win in his previous start. He still could have value is deeper leagues behind Frederik Andersen, who is back in the fold from COVID-19 protocol.

Noah Dobson, who has been on Waiver Wired for the past two weeks, is available in 80% of Yahoo leagues. The Islanders don’t play again until Jan. 11, but he is a good option for the rest of the season.

Bowen Byram (32%) is set to return for Colorado on Sunday. He has been a superb multi-category fantasy contributor and should be picked up if he is available.

Now, let’s get into this week’s recommendations:

Robert Thomas (St. Louis) - C, RW - Rostered in 26% of Yahoo leagues

Thomas has received plenty of love on Waiver Wired this season and he is worth picking up again now that he is back from a seven-game absence caused by a lower-body injury. He has one goal and two assists in two games since his return. The trio of Thomas, Jordan Kyrou and Vladimir Tarasenko has been excellent for St. Louis. He leads the Blues with 22 assists and he has compiled 25 points in 26 appearances this season.

Tage Thompson (Buffalo) C, LW, RW - Rostered in 26% of Yahoo leagues

Thompson has two goals and four assists in six matches thanks to three two-point performances. The 24-year-old forward is enjoying a career-year with 12 goals and 22 points through 33 matches. Thompson has received a bit of a boost from Alex Tuch, who has one goal and two helper in his first three matches as a member of the Sabres.

Corey Perry (Tampa Bay) - RW - Rostered in 17% of Yahoo leagues

Perry has become a fairly regular contributor for the Lightning following a slow start offensively to the 2021-22 campaign. He has accounted for eight goals and 15 points in 17 games. Perry has also amassed 42 shots on target during that span and he has been credited with 32 hits in 33 matches. He is a good option for deeper leagues at this time.

Phil Kessel (Arizona) - RW - Rostered in 12% of Yahoo leagues

Kessel racked up six points, including five assists and seven shots in two games to finish off December. He has three goals and 16 points in his past 16 outings. Clayton Keller (29%) and Nick Schmaltz (4%) have been recommended in previous weeks on Waiver Wired. Kessel has emerged as a decent option as well.

Nicolas Roy (Vegas) - C, RW - Rostered in 10% of Yahoo leagues

Roy has heated up offensively with five goals and eight points in his past 11 outings. He has two goals and one power-play assists over a three-game point streak. Roy has been seeing time on the top power-play combination of the Golden Knights, which gives him a boost despite playing in the bottom-six forward group.

Craig Smith (Boston) - RW - Rostered in 8% of Yahoo leagues

Smith moved up to the top line of the Bruins on Saturday against Buffalo. He scored a goal, while playing alongside Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron, and logged a season-high 17:29 of ice time. Smith has been slowed by injuries this season, but he has been more productive of late with eight points (three goals, five assists) in his past 12 outings. He makes for a great streaming option for as long as he remains on the first line.

Paul Stastny (Winnipeg) - C, LW - Rostered in 8% of Yahoo leagues

Stastny made an appearance on Waiver Wired a week ago, but Winnipeg ended up having all their games postponed. The team hasn’t played since Dec. 19 when Stastny produced two goals and one assist in a win over St. Louis, while skating on the top line with Mark Scheifele and Nikolaj Ehlers. The Jets have two games scheduled for this week, but fantasy managers could get an additional game on Sunday afternoon if Stastny is added today.

Frank Vatrano (Florida) - LW, RW - Rostered in 7% of Yahoo leagues

Vatrano has generated two goals, one assist and seven shots in two games since returning to the lineup this week from COVID-19 protocol. Florida’s offense has been firing on all cylinders, so he is a decent pickup despite being on the third line.

Yegor Sharangovich (New Jersey) - C, LW, RW - Rostered in 6% of Yahoo leagues

Sharangovich has registered two goals and two assists during a three-game point spree. He has been playing well alongside Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt. Sharangovich has been a bit behind the scoring pace he established during his rookie season, but his recent play suggests he is getting back on track.

Alexander Barabanov (San Jose) - LW, RW - Rostered in 3% of Yahoo leagues

Barabanov has been fairly consistent offensively, while going without a point for more than two straight games just once this season. He has nine points, including eight helpers, and 17 shots in 11 games going into the Sharks’ four-game road trip. Barabanov has been skating on the first line with Logan Couture and Timo Meier during even-strength situations.

Honorable Mention:

Tanner Pearson (Vancouver) - LW - Rostered in 6% of Yahoo leagues

Pearson has accumulated nine points (four goals, five assists) in his past 13 contests. That includes six points (two goals, four assists) during his latest six- game stretch along with 19 shots on target. Pearson has been playing well alongside Elias Pettersson and Conor Garland. Unfortunately, Vancouver only has one game scheduled for this coming week prior to playing four times on the road the following week. Still, Pearson could be scooped up or added to your watch list.
