Adult film star Stormy Daniels, fresh off a 60 Minutes interview in which she detailed her alleged affair with President Trump, took time on Easter Sunday to respond to an offensive tweet leveled at her that claimed she did not have the right to say she was assaulted because she is a porn star.

Daniels took the poster to task, noting that they had implied that “women with certain jobs cannot be assaulted.” This cuts to the very core of consent, because despite how we morally judge (or don’t judge) sex workers and adult performers, if they are not consenting to a sex act, it is, in fact, assault. As Daniels noted, it is a “terrifying thought process.”
You are implying that women with certain jobs cannot be assaulted. This is a disgusting and terrifying thought process. For the record, I have stated numerous times that I am not claiming a “#metoo card” but I see you are definitely flying your asshat flag. https://t.co/erRFeNsMul

Even if someone has sex on camera for money, that does not mean they are consenting to sex with others.
Others on the social media service chimed in to support Daniels, with one drawing an interesting correlation between professional fighters and adult film actors.
That doesn’t make any sense. That’s like saying it’s okay to go up to a boxer and punch him in the head because that’s part of his job.

Another pointed out the victim-blaming that exists in our society.
These people think that there is no such thing as rape aginst a wife and the women that are sexually assaulted deserved it. You have always said that you were not a victim. These f**ing people are ignorant and hateful. F**kem

Some tweets asserted, as Daniels did, that consent is never contingent on a job title.
@Angela_Chochi gurl. It’s a job. It’s a tough job. She is a producer and director. That takes skill. Wrong for you to diss any woman.

Who knew that rape depended on job titles?! Where do we stand with accountants, grocery store workers and parking wardens?

Daniels has repeatedly stated that she is a not a victim in her alleged intimate encounter with the president, and that their encounter was consensual.
