Brad Stonebraker explains why Fred VanVleet's been a "fantasy goldmine" this season and managers shouldn't anticipate him slowing down anytime soon.

Video Transcript

BRAD STONEBRAKER: If you have any shares of Raptors point guard Fred VanVleet in fantasy basketball this season, you're probably already very well aware of just how spectacular he's been. His game is basically a fantasy gold mine as he helps out in nearly every category and has made a name for himself because of it. As soon as it was official that Kyle Lowry was headed to Miami, VanVleet immediately became the team's starting point guard and leader, with the chance to be even better than the second round value he provided last season. And he's done just that, and is now a top 10 fantasy asset this season, including posting the second fewest turnovers of all the guys in the current top 10 conversation to help his case even more.

We saw VanVleet in his element in his game against the Warriors on Saturday, posting a full stat line before halftime and finishing with an efficient 27 points, 7 rebounds, 12 dimes, 3 steals, 1 block, 6 3-pointers and not a single turnover across 33 minutes. His name isn't necessarily one that's brought up often as he's not a player with a big name, and plays for a smaller market. But he's currently outperforming frequently spoken of players, such as Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid on a per game basis. VanVleet should have no issue retaining first round value on the season and he's paying incredible dividends for managers who trusted him to take the reins on this Raptors team.
