Stockton Kings’ season ends in NBA G League conference finals

STOCKTON, Calif. (KTXL) – When the Stockton Kings look back at Sunday night’s playoff game, they can point to the second quarter.

The Kings had an eleven-point lead after the first quarter, before getting outscored 42-18 in the second quarter. They lost to Oklahoma City, 114-107.

“How hard it is to win a championship. You kind of forget how hard it is to win a championship until you are in the moment and lose one,” said Jalen Slawson, who scored 26 points in the loss. “So, you know, we will carry this hunger, this passion, this pain into this offseason. Stockton will be back in the Western Conference Finals.”

Jahmi’us Ramsey scored 29 points to lead all scorers. Ramsey, who now plays for Oklahoma City, is a former Stockton King and a former Sacramento King.

“When I was with the Sacramento Kings, he was my player development player,” said Stockton head coach Lindsey Harding. “So the coaching staff was joking with me a little bit saying, ‘you got him too good.’

Oklahoma City will face Maine in the NBA G League Finals, a best-of-three series that begins on Tuesday.
