Stock up, stock down report from the Vikings’ loss to the Bears

Minnesota came into the matchup with Chicago as a playoff contender.

The Vikings ended up losing to the Bears and letting most of their playoff hopes slip away. Now that the postseason appears to be a long shot, the team will have to assess the players who are on the field for the Saints and Lions games.

Minnesota has to decide who to keep around, who to give a lesser role, who to give a bigger role, who to move on from and other key roster decisions the rest of the way.

Some of that comes down to seeing which players stood out against the Bears and who struggled. Here is the stock up, stock down report from the game:

After two consecutive tough outings, Bailey bounced back against the Bears. He hit all of his kicks: three extra points and two field goals.

Stock down: DE Ifeadi Odenigbo

Odenigbo had another game where he had no sacks. It seems like the experiment of Odenigbo starting has not worked out.

Dantzler was one of the lone bright spots on the Vikings defense. He had a timely interception in the end zone to help keep a possible comeback alive. https://twitter.com/NFL/status/1340760942540296193?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1340760942540296193%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.twincities.com%2F2020%2F12%2F21%2Fvikings-rookie-cameron-dantzler-is-silver-lining-of-struggling-defense%2F

Minnesota's new look defensive group played great against Chicago earlier in the year. This time around, the group struggled. Bears running back David Montgomery finished with 146 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Chicago had 199 rushing yards in total, which was a big reason why the team was able to put up 33.

Conklin had another decent game. He finished with 57 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Stock down: The Vikings' playoff chances

Minnesota has a very small chance of making the playoffs at this point. A lot needs to happen and the team probably needs to win out just to make things easier. It's not impossible, but it's looking like a long shot at this point.
