Giants' Kapler excited for Steph to break 3-point record originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea

Warriors star Steph Curry is approaching a historic milestone and many throughout the sports world have taken notice.

Including San Francisco Giants manager Gabe Kapler, who is excited to watch Curry break Ray Allen's all-time NBA 3-point record

If you're too young to understand the reference, Jesus Shuttlesworth was a fictional character from the 1998 movie "He Got Game," played by none other than Allen himself.

Entering the Warriors' game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night at Chase Center, Curry (2,958) is 15 3-pointers away from tying Allen's record of 2,973 and 16 from passing the NBA Hall of Famer.

If he were to somehow tie or even break the record Wednesday night, Curry would surpass teammate Klay Thompson's single-game record (14) for 3-pointers while doing so.

As unlikely as that is, it's never smart to bet against Steph. Whenever he does break the record, though, Kapler is one of many prominent sports figures who will be watching.
