Steelers sign DB Trevor Williams to practice squad

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced a pair of roster moves on Wednesday. First, the team signed defensive back Trevor Williams their practice squad. To make room for Williams, the corresponding move was for the Steelers to release long snapper Christian Kuntz.

The Steelers brought Williams in for a tryout earlier in the week and saw enough to bring him in. Williams adds an excellent veteran presence with experience during the playoffs.

Pittsburgh currently has starting cornerback Joe Haden on the Reserve/COVID-19 list and the other starting cornerback, Steven Nelson is dealing with a knee injury. I won’t be at all shocked if Williams in on the active roster and playing on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.
