Steelers select LB Buddy Johnson in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL draft

The Pittsburgh Steelers stuck with Texas A&M for their second fourth-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft. After taking offensive tackle Dan Moore, Pittsburgh followed it up with fellow Aggie and inside linebacker Buddy Johnson.

Johnson is an interesting case because the measurables and timed speed are all very good. He’s been a starter for two years and when you watch him play he seems to always be around the football.

Johnson is a team leader, called the defense for Texas A&M and is hyper-aggressive. He’s a coach’s type of player. I can see him being a very productive tackler and run defender in the Steelers defense if he can become a bit more patient and learn to shed blockers better.
