Steelers miss out on waiver claim for DT Khalil Davis

According to NFL reporter Field Yates, the Pittsburgh Steelers were among several teams who put in a waiver claim on defensive tackle Khalil Davis this week. Davis was awarded to the Indianapolis Colts based on waiver priority but Pittsburgh was close.

If the Steelers would have gotten Davis, he could have been playing on the same team as, and likely as a short-term replacement for his twin brother Carlos Davis. Carlos is currently dealing with a knee injury and has missed two straight games.

Presumably, when the Steelers missed out on Davis they then turned to veteran Eli Ankou instead.
