Max Scherzer will be handed the ball for the rubber match against the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday night. And those bright lights are something he thrives in.

Of course, the Cy Young winner thrives in the biggest of moments. But on Sunday Night Baseball, Scherzer has been absolutely dominate.

Check out his stats:

Those stats bode well for the Mets' streak of winning each series thus far. But Scherzer will probably not worry about those considering he's off to a hot start this season.

The Mets' ace owns a 1.80 ERA over his four starts as well as a 0.76 WHIP. He's gone seven innings in his last two outings, which includes a two-hit performance against the St. Louis Cardinals. Scherzer's also posted 10 strikeouts in each of those outings.

Facing the Phillies earlier this season, Scherzer lasted five innings as he didn't have the best control of his stuff to start the game. However, he worked through the threats on the basepaths, allowing just one run in that span.

Since then, though, Scherzer's been on a roll and now those Sunday night bright lights will be back on him, where he seems to feel very comfortable.
