Who to start on your fantasy team from Seahawks-Cardinals in Week 9

The Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks will meet for the second time in under a month in Week 9. This game could have massive implications for the NFC West. If the Cardinals win, the race for first place becomes tighter. If the Seahawks win, they possibly start pulling away from everyone else.

At this point in the fantasy football season, the top teams begin to separate themselves. If you are on the fringe of the playoffs, these next few weeks are crucial to put your team over the hump.

Let’s take a look at our fantasy picks for Cardinals-Seahawks in Week 9.

Cardinals RB James Conner

Conner has not been healthy for the last month for the Cardinals, but he appears on pace to return for this pivotal matchup.

While many are likely disappointed if they drafted Conner, he deserves a start in this one (assuming he plays). When healthy for the Cardinals, Conner has been an elite fantasy football back.

The Cardinals have been struggling mightily in the red zone, which bodes well for Conner’s chances to get touches near the goal line. Last season, he completely carried the offense in the red zone with 15 rushing touchdowns.

If he’s truly healthy and good to go, he’s poised for multiple goalline touches. Since the return of DeAndre Hopkins, the Cardinals have moved the ball down the field well, but still have trouble getting touchdowns instead of field goals.

Look for Conner to have a bounce-back performance in his first game back.

Cardinals WR Rondale Moore

Moore had his first true breakout game of the season last week against the Vikings. It appears the Cardinals finally figured out how to throw him the ball beyond the line of scrimmage, which he rewarded them with.

In full-point PPR leagues, Moore had 23.4 points. He had multiple catches in the intermediate passing game and broke one for a touchdown.

With Hollywood Brown still sidelined for a few more weeks, Moore will receive a solid amount of targets. The acquisition of Robbie Anderson has not gone to plan for the Cardinals, so Moore appears to be the team’s WR2 at this point.

In a pass-heavy offense, Moore is worth an add if he’s available in your league. He could be a game-winning flex start this week.

Seahawks TE Noah Fant

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

If your tight end is on a bye week or you have an injury at the position with Mark Andrews, Fant could be a nice plug-and-play option here.

When these two teams played a few weeks ago, Fant was Seattle’s leading receiver with 45 receptions on six catches. While these numbers aren’t overly impressive, they’re enough to keep your team afloat as a replacement starter for the week.

The Cardinals’ defense puts the majority of their attention on opposing No. 1 receivers. Both D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett had quiet games in these two teams’ last outing, which left some openings for Fant.

He’s currently available in most leagues, so he could be a solid option to fill the spot for the week.
