Stars re-sign C Dickinson to 2-year, $3M contract

The Dallas Stars re-signed center Jason Dickinson to a two-year, $3 million contract Thursday.

The 24-year-old set career highs with 22 points (six goals, 16 assists) and 67 games played in the 2018-19 regular season. He added five points (three goals, two assists) in 13 games in the playoffs.

"Jason is a conscientious player who plays a very detailed, 200-foot game," Dallas general manager Jim Nill said in a statement. "As last season progressed, he began impacting games night in and night out, and he really established himself during the playoffs. We fully expect him to continue to build upon that and be a big part of our team for years to come."

Dickinson was the Stars' first-round pick (29th overall) in the 2013 draft.

The Ontario native has tallied nine goals and 18 assists in 105 games since making his NHL debut on April 7, 2016.
