Stanford’s Tara VanDerveer caps historic season with Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Coach of the Year award

The Pac-12 announced its year-end Pac-12 Women’s Basketball All-Conference and Performance Awards with Stanford head coach Tara VanDerveer winning Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Coach of the Year honors. VanDerveer is the John R. Wooden Coach of the Year for the 16th time in her illustrious career after leading Stanford to its 24th Pac-12 regular-season title. VanDerveer reached new heights this season, surpassing Pat Summitt to become the winningest coach in NCAA Division I women’s basketball history, a record which now stands at 1,116 career victories. The Cardinal have ranked in the top-six of the national rankings in every poll this season, including a No. 1 overall ranking for six-straight weeks.
