'Squad is too big already'; 'A wasted opportunity'

We asked what transfer business you would like to see from Celtic on deadline day, and how you would rate their January business so far.

Here's a taste of what you had to say:

Gary: If we don’t sign players who are going to strengthen the starting team then there is no point in signing anyone. Our squad is too big already and we don’t need any more squad players.

Hugh: I think we will look back on this window as a wasted opportunity. We have failed to strengthen the squad in any position and we have also failed to clear out any deadwood. A few injuries and we will be struggling. The board have shown a lack of ambition and have taken the support for granted.

Tom: We need a striker with Oh the only back-up we have for Kyogo, and we definitely need a full-back. Greg Taylor needs competition and Bernabei just doesn’t seem up to scratch.

Danny: I feel in years gone by, Celtic were prone to making an impact signing in the January window. The likes of Roy Keane - players nearing the end of their careers but still good enough to pull on the jersey and get fans excited. But nowadays we get mediocre players who we’ve never heard of. Players like Dele Alli and Coutinho are in limbo… Why not?

Jim: Not the cleverest scouting; maybe Celtic don't have the pulling power of old? Surely any targets should have been sounded out a lot earlier. Poorly organised.

Dan: Still badly need a left-back. We have been rumoured to be after Kurzawa from PSG, so hopefully that goes through even just on loan. I don't see much else coming in. Lagerbielke might end up staying after all; Holm and Yang could do with being loaned out.
