Sports: Trinity Valley softball swats four wins

Mar. 13—The Lady Cards slugged their way to four wins over the weekend as they battled in the Region 14 Crossover Tournament in Mesquite.

TVCC took down Blinn 11-2 on Friday with Alessandra Borjas on the mound. The second Lady Card win came at the expense of Angelina College, 14-3, with Mikayla Marrujo getting the win.

In the win against Angelina, Addison Wittram went three-for-four at the plate, driving in five runs. She had a triple in the game.

Day two displayed more big bats for TVCC as they routed Coastal Bend 16-5 and Lamar Port Arthur 10-4. Nicole Stuhr an Borjas got the wins.

In the Coastal Bend game, it was Abby Hollingsworth with five RBI. Hollingsworth homered twice.

Trinity Valley is now second in the conference in batting average with .385 for the season. They are 19-7 with conference approaching. The four wins helped move TVCC into the Top 20 in the latest NJCAA Poll.

Conference play starts on Tuesday with games against Kilgore at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
