Sports shorts: Flames fourth at St. Mary's golf tourney

Mar. 5—The Lodi High boys golf team placed fourth out of 16 teams at the St. Mary's Tournament on Monday at Stockton Country Club, shooting 390 as a team. De La Salle won the tournament, with Jesuit second.

A.J. Salvetti was the low scorer for Lodi with a 70 on the par-71 course, good for second place overall. Jack Main scored an even-par 71 for fifth place, Trent Munson carded a 79, Tyler Carson an 81, Carson Buchmiller an 89, and Haydon Wilcox a 92.


Varsity: Manteca 11, Tokay 3

The Tigers dropped to 2-2 with Monday's loss, scoring three runs on three hits. Brock Sell had a double and two runs for Tokay, along with singles from Paul Buckley and Joey Galletti.

Tokay is back in action on Friday at the Placer-Downey Tournament.

Varsity: Liberty Ranch 9, Marysville 4

The Hawks improved to 3-0 with Monday's victory on the road, with five hits and four walks adding to five Marysville errors.

Kade Lecompte led the way with a 2-for-4 day with a double and two RBIs, along with a double and two runs from Vance Moe, a double from Mario Rubalcava, a single, two RBIs and two runs from Nolan House, and a single from Garrett Owen.

On the mound, Owen went 4 1/3 innings with six strikeouts, with two innings of work from Moe and 2/3 of an inning from LeCompte.

Liberty Ranch will host Rosemont on Thursday in Sierra Valley Conference play. The JV game went to Liberty Ranch, also by a 9-4 score.
