Nov. 10—Game change for WHS
Due to North Posey still playing in the football playoffs, the Washington-North Posey boys' game is moving to Jan. 20.
WC falls to North Central
The Washington Catholic Lady Cardinals fell to 0-2 with a 73-9 loss to North Central in the Birdcage on Thursday.
Lexi Gootee led the team with four points including the team's only 3-ball. Addie Talbert had two, Macey McCracken had two and Madison McCracken had one.
Junior High Lady Vikes take 2
OAKLAND CITY — The Barr Reeve seventh and eighth grade girls opened up Thursday night on the road at Wood Memorial. The seventh-grade girls built an early lead and then held on 29-24. JJ Knepp scored 18 points to lead the Vikings. Molly Anderson chipped in with nine, Avery Wittmer had a bucket for two
The eighth went back and forth for most of the game but then pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 30- 23 win. They were led by Shelby Dobson with 11 points, JJ Knepp had nine, Shay Knepp scored eight and Ava Graber had two.
Both teams are back in action on Monday night at Paoli.
WJHS win both
The Washington Junior High Lady Hatchets hosted Princeton Tigers Thursday evening for their first home game of this 2023-2024 season. The seventh (1-0) opened the night with a good win start and never trailed in the game to win, 27-15.
The eighth grade (1-1) would play in the night cap game and also led from start to finish in the second game. WJHS would lead 8-2 after one quarter and up 22-5 at halftime. Washington would control the game the rest of the way and get its first win of the season, 44-29.
Both teams play again Tuesday at Pike Central, starting at 6 p.m.

OAKLAND CITY — The Barr-Reeve Junior High won both games at Oakland City on Thursday. The seventh won, 48-5, while the eighth won by a nearly identical, 50-5.
