ND falls to Linton, 53-25
LINTON — The North Daviess Cougars fell to Linton-Stockton on Saturday, 53-25.
The Lady Cougs were led by Delaney Zorman and Lanie Cornelius, both with eight. Brynlee Perkins added five, while Ava Graber and Kasey Freed added two points each.
ND take on Loogootee on Tuesday.
WHS grapplers at BNL
BEDFORD — Washington Hatchet wrestling team started the year on Saturday with a third-place finish at the Bedford North Lawrence Super Six. Senior Brady Byrd and junior Jack Whitehead went undefeated in five matches. During the matches, Washington 54-30 over Bedford North Lawrence, Washington 57-21 over Silver Creek, Washington 48-36 over North Harrison, but Perry Meridian beat WHS, 45-27 and Mooresville 45-36 over the Hatchets.
The Hatchets also wrestled in The Jasper JV Rick and Rohl Invitational.
WHS JV team had three wrestlers place, Eden McPherson placed fifth and Boston Noble and Angel Perez both placed sixth.
B-R gets win
MITCHELL — The Barr-Reeve Lady Vikings picked up a Barr-Reeve 61- 31 victory over Mitchell. Hannah Bledsoe led the Viking attack with 12 points.
