Jan. 18—GJHS basketball

The Greensburg seventh grade girls basketball team went on the road and defeated Seymour by a score of 43-31.

After leading by two points at halftime, the young Lady Pirates came out and took control of the game in the second half. Sophie Buening had another huge game with 32 points. She was followed by Alivia Bishop four, Lulu Webb three, Mila Dehoff two and Makayla Kieffer two.

Greensburg's eighth grade girls basketball team defeated the Lady Owls 50-20.

Kahlen Adams led the way with 30 points. She was followed by Sophie Buening six, Carly Greiwe five, Aubrie Barnes-Petitt five, Becky Huang two and Maya Kennelly two.

BRMS basketball

The Benjamin Rush Middle School boys basketball teams were in action Tuesday at Morristown. The seventh grade Cubs fought hard, but fell to the Yellow Jackets 33-32.

Logan Gordon had seven points and four steals. Madden Meek, Levi Phares and Ellis Herbert all had solid nights chipping in with five points. Aiden Kamman controlled the boards with 10 rebounds and added four points.

The eighth grade Cubs dominated from start to finish en route to a 55-24 victory over Morristown.

Emmett Knecht had a nice all-around game with 16 points, six rebounds and five assists. Braydin Pease added nine points, four rebounds and three assists. Ryder Flannery had a great shooting night with 10 points. Caleb Short-Ogunmola added nine points and three rebounds. Jevan Bunch finished with five points followed by Abel Coon four points and Colton Logsdon two points.

Lady Lions JV basketball

Rushville's junior varsity girls basketball team (7-9)lost to Pendleton Heights Saturday 48-47 in overtime.

Kiara Flannery had 10 points. Kelsey Morgan tallied nine points and 10 rebounds. Charlotte Caviness finished with eight points and three steals. Melany Mahan had eight points, three rebounds and two steals. Audrey Angle added eight points, seven rebounds and two steals. Josie Corn scored two points. Becca Tabeling scored two points and grabbed six rebounds.

Brownstown Central

The Pirates travel to Brownstown Central Jan. 19. All of Brownstown Central's boys games are sold out for the season. Greensburg receives an allotment of tickets and the tickets must be purchase in advance.
