Spartans compete in 5-team swim meet

Jan. 13—South Caldwell faced off against West Caldwell, Pinnacle Classical Academy, Newton-Conover, and Alexander Central during a recent swim meet at the Lenoir Aquatic Center.

The Spartans' Chloe Bolick, Emmalynn Johnson, Peyton Felts, Kaylee Moore won the 200-yard relay with a time of 2:09.80.

South Caldwell also won the boys' 200-yard relay with a time of 1:59.30. The relay team consisted of Sawyer Thompson, Avery Annas, Harriss Inman, and Owen Griffith.

The Spartans' Kyra Westerfield and Makayla Felts came in first and second place, respectively, in the 200-yard freestyle.

Thompson won the boys' 200-yard freestyle (2:17.20).

Felts won the 200-yard individual medley, while her teammate Olivia Tomberlin came in third.

Annas claimed the boys' 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:21.30. Max Clark (2:33.60) finished in second place.

Bolick (27.80) secured first place in the 50-yard freestyle, and Moore (30.00) ended up in second place.

In the boys' 50-yard freestyle, Griffith (23.60) was first, while Nathan Hall (26.25) came in second.

Jade Moyer was second in the 100-yard butterfly, and Abby Philips secured third place. Felts also won the 500-yard freestyle, as Moyer finished behind her in second place.

Inman emerged the boys' 100-yard butterfly winner in 53.40 seconds.

The foursome of Mariana Parrero, Isabella Sturgill, Reese Sturgill, and Lydia Hendren captured first place in the girls' 200-yard freestyle relay for the Spartans.

Annas, Clark, Thompson, and Griffith swam away with the boys' 200-yard freestyle relay to give another victory to South Caldwell.

Bolick won the girls' 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:11.40, while Clark won the boys' race in 1:09.70.

Annas also won the boys' 100-yard backstroke by finishing with a time of 1:11.20.

South Caldwell also won the girls' and boys' 400-yard freestyle relay.
