Southwestern falls to Wayne County

Jan. 29—The Southwestern Warriors were hoping to overcome the 48th District kings in the Wayne County Cardinals on Friday night and were hoping to stop a two-game losing streak. Despite a slightly closer game between the two this time around, it was still all Wayne County as Southwestern fell to 2-2 in district play courtesy of their 75-48 loss.

The Warriors were led in the loss by Zach Hutchinson with a game-high 20 points, while Connor Hudson added 19 points. Other scorers were Adam Marcum with five and both Cameron Shipp and Kaden Campbell with two apiece. Wayne County was led by 15 points apiece from freshman Korbyn Edwards and junior Antajuan Dumphord.

Southwestern falls to 8-11 and will be back at the Wig Wam on Monday to take on the Somerset Christian Cougars in a rivalry clash.
