Southwestern falls to Sevier County, Tenn.

Jan. 16—Southwestern was on a five-game winning streak heading into a Saturday contest at South Laurel in the Roy Bowling Classic against Sevier County (Sevierville), Tenn. After defeating their rivals from Pulaski County, the Warriors were trying to avoid a letdown against a top-ranked team from Tennessee. Unfortunately, their winning streak came to an end as they were defeated by a final score of 60-46.

The Warriors were led by Payton Acey with 18 points, while Kinsley Molden added nine points. Other scorers included Jaelyn Dye with six, Megan Loudermilk with five, Jordyn McDonald and Mollie Osborne with three apiece and both Kylie Dalton and Ava Jones with one.

Southwestern falls to 11-6 and will return to the Wig Wam for the first time since early December on Friday as they will take on district foe Wayne County. That game, weather-permitting, will tip at 7:30 p.m.
