Southwestern blows past Lincoln County in six

Mar. 26—Back at the War Path on Monday, the Southwestern Warriors welcomed in the Lincoln County Lady Patriots. The bats were once again hot for the Warriors and although they trailed 4-3 early, they outscored Lincoln 12-1 the rest of the way through and put a stamp on a 15-5 win in six innings by scoring six runs in the final inning.

Kylie Dalton had a tremendous game with six RBI's on three hits, including two doubles. Jordyn McDonald and Lexi Martin each had two RBI's, with Abigail Whitescarver, Zoie Lowery, Arabella Lowery and Hanah Ellis each having a single RBI apiece. Arabella Lowery and Macie Gwin each had a double in the contest. Whitescarver had two stolen bases in the win, with Brynn Troxell, Haley Raleigh, McDonald and Dalton each having a stolen base as well. Jayla Singleton earned the start on the mound and went three innings, allowing five runs on three hits with two walks and three strikeouts. McDonald earned the win, pitching the final three innings and allowing no runs on just one hit with one walk and one strikeout. Lincoln County was led by an RBI apiece from three different batters.

Southwestern improves to 6-3 and will next welcome in the Somerset Lady Jumpers on Thursday at 6 p.m.
