SouthCoast high school scores and highlights for Tuesday, June 6

Here's a look at the scores and highlights from Tuesday's high school action on the SouthCoast.

GIRLS TENNIS

Old Rochester 3, Medfield 2

The No. 11 Bulldogs pulled off the upset over sixth-seeded Medfield in the Div. 3 Sweet 16. Winners for Old Rochester were No. 1 Neva Matos 6-0, 6-0 over Lauren Barr, No. 3 Gabby Berg 6-2, 6-3 over Ceci Camm and the first doubles team of Mari Sudofsky and Liz Houdelette 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 over Mary Palladio and Juliet Lane. “Mari Sudofsky and Liz Houdelette were originally our second doubles but being short a player, they bumped up to first doubles and had the match winning game,” said Old Rochester head coach Kyle Noseworthy. ORR (13-3) will face the winner of No. 3 Dover-Sherborn (19-0) and No. 14 Swampscott (9-7) in the Elite 8 at a date and time to be determined.

BOYS LACROSSE

Old Rochester 12, East Longmeadow 8

Led by Brady Lee’s five goals, No. 10 Bulldogs beat No. 23 East Longmeadow in the Div. 3 Round of 32 during a game that was delayed because of inclement weather. Zach Zutaut added four goals and one assist while Sawyer Fox scored twice. Harrison Hughes added a goal. Tyler Cardinal and Caleb Bousquet each had an assist. ORR (13-2) will visit No. 7 Falmouth (13-6) in the Sweet 16 at a date and time to be determined.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Norwell 15, Fairhaven 1

Sydney Burke scored Fairhaven’s lone goal in a loss to No. 6 Norwell in the Div. 3 Sweet 16. “Defense played tough but Norwell had an answer to everything we did,” said Fairhaven head coach Scott Francis. “They're a strong team.” The No. 11 Blue Devils (14-6-1) finished the year with 14 wins, the most of any Fairhaven team so far and won the South Coast Conference championship. “I'm very proud of these seniors and the overall program,” Francis said. “They will be missed.” Fairhaven opened the Div. 3 tournament with an 18-7 win over Shawsheen Valley on Saturday thanks to five goals and two assists from Burke. Carlie Francis added four goals and one assist while Sophia Fleurent had three goals. Sophia Murray (two goals and one assist), Savannah Morris (one goal, two assists), Christina Pimentel (one goal and one assist), Kaylei Joseph (goal), Lauren Souza (goal) and Emerson Milton (assist) also contributed.
