New south side video board coming to Folsom Field in 2024
Folsom Field will soon be receiving a much-needed upgrade.
University of Colorado athletic director Rick George announced Wednesday that a new video board is coming to the stadium’s south end zone in time for the 2024 season. The new board will be over five times the total surface area of the current one, per CU.
Additionally, the ribbon video board underneath will be expanded “over 1,000 feet from the top of section 203 to the top of section 220.”
The project is expected to cost about $15 million.
“Enhancing the atmosphere of Folsom Field on game day is always a top priority and we are always looking for ways to improve,” George said in a press release. “I’m confident this new video board will further enrich and elevate the game day experience for our fans next year in our first season in the Big 12 Conference.”

This is so cool. The Prime effect in full display for the #CUBuffs.
A new video board was long overdue given that most fans in Folsom with normal vision couldn’t even see the current one. https://t.co/FDiIqok0tb

A key thing for me is that the new board, despite being five-times the surface area, is only eight feet taller. Great design decision that will maintain the mountain views we all love.
