South Carolina defeats Lady Vols in regular-season finale

South Carolina (34-19. 9-15 SEC) defeated No. 4 Tennessee (41-8, 19-5 SEC), 4-2, Sunday at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

The Lady Vols led, 1-0, in the first inning after a solo home run by Kiki Milloy, her 21st of the season.

Pitcher Karlyn Pickens (9-5) appeared in relief and allowed five hits, four runs (one earned), and five hits, while recording three strikeouts.

Payton Gotshall started and pitched 3.1 innings. She allowed five hits and recorded four strikeouts,

Nicola Simpson pitched 1.2 innings in the contest for the Lady Vols.

Tennessee will next compete in the SEC Tournament Fayetteville, Arkansas. Tennessee will play its first game May 11 with first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m. EDT (SEC Network).
